Different types of camping may be named for their mode of transportation,such as canoe camping, car camping, motorhomes, and backpacking, including ultralight backpacking.Camping has also been labeled as a lifestyle:Glamping (glamorous camping), which combines camping with the luxury and amenities of a home or hotel,originated in African safaris in Europe and the United States in the early 1900s.Workamping allows campers to trade their labor in different ways in exchange for discounts on campsite fees, campsite utilities and even some degree of wages.Migrant camps were not established for recreation,but as temporary housing arrangements.A campsite for a custom harvester in America may include room to park a combine harvester and other large farm equipment.Camping is also popular at airshows, especially at the Oshkosh Airshow where people often camp in small tents under the wings of airplanes.

Equipments 

The equipment used in camping varies depending on the intended activity.For example, in survival camping, equipment consists of small items designed to help provide food, heat, and safety to the camper.Gear for this type of camping must be lightweight and limited to must-have items.Other types of camping, such as winter camping, require equipment such as specially designed tents or clothing that are strong enough to protect the camper's body from wind and cold.Survival camping involves certain items that campers are advised to carry with them in case something goes wrong and needs to be rescued.Survival kits include must-have items that are small enough to fit in a pocket or otherwise carry with you.This kit is useless in these situations if left in a backpack left at camp.Such a kit should include a small metal container that can be used to heat water over a campfire, a small piece of duct tape, useful in many situations, and an emergency space blanket.These blankets are specially designed to take up very little space, making them perfect for making emergency shelters and keeping campers warm.Plus, thanks to the aluminum-like color, the blanket is reflective, meaning it can be easily seen from airplanes.Candle ends are great for starting a fire or warming up an enclosed space. A Band-Aid or two is mandatory on this type of camping.Any camper, not just survivors, will need waterproof matches or a lighter and a large safety pin or hook that can be used for fishing.Also included in the survival kit are rubber gloves, sanitizing wipes, tinfoil, jackknife or toluidine tablets (to purify water).While these may seem like too much for one person to carry, they're actually small, light, and definitely useful.Winter camping can be dangerous if the basic rules of this particular activity are not followed.
